Could She Be Cuter?

Yay! It's another video of our favorite girl.
Stella has learned how to answer questions with both
yes & no
And she usually seems to answer correctly.
For example, if we ask if she's done eating
she will usually say yes or no and mean it.
Not sure that she understood the question here though...

Oh yeah, and Cole taught her how to say "taco" yesterday.
He's planning his birthday bash and
he's planning a taco dance party,
so he's got tacos on the brain.

Moves Like Stella

We have discovered that Stella
loves music.
I think most babies do,
but in our case, the music really captivates her.
It is often a nice tool to use when we have
a particularly sleepy baby.
I think her rocking & swaying is funny.

Enjoy!

Darn Time Change!

First off, I realize that I have already broken my
vow to blog every day this month.
I honestly just forgot on Saturday
and then on Sunday I just gave myself permission to
skip blogging on the weekends.
So, there it is.
I'll still try to blog on the weekdays
and we'll see how the weekends go.

Ok, now on to today's post...
I officially hate the time change.
I think it's silly.
I don't like that it's getting dark at 5:30 now.
And I don't like trying to get a very well scheduled child
to switch her schedule by a whole hour.
Last night we were fighting her off from sleep at 6:30 PM.
We managed to keep her up until almost 7:15.
But not before she, out of sheer exhaustion, smashed
her thumb in the dryer door while she was helping
Mommy fold laundry.

The time change also affects our morning routine.
Normally I can get showered and ready before she wakes up.
But of course now that we're pushed back an hour
Guess who got to help Mommy get ready this morning?

She likes to see what she can find in the bathroom drawers.

These are things she normally doesn't get to play with.

And she really likes it!
Especially when she shakes the bag of cotton balls
and they all come falling out!

This exploring is serious business!

And she likes it!

"Oh, Hi Mom. Look what I found."

I guess with all of the new things that she found
she's ok with leaving some old friends behind.

Top Down Girl

We discovered, quite by accident,
that Stella is a top-down kind of girl

She loves the wind in her hair and squeals
for the windows to be down.
I've got bad news for her,
it's going to be a LONG winter
before we can once again enjoy the warm wind
and driving with the top down.

Chompers

Chompers have long been a focus
in our house.
Stella got her first 2 bottom teeth at
4 months.
And she currently has 12 teeth
with 2 more molars coming in.
We've gone through at least 2 bottles of Tylenol
and countless sleepless nights.

Well, we have to take care of those pearly whites.

We're still learning how to properly use the toothbrush.

Sometimes we get it right.

And sometimes other children in Stella's
daycare room use their teeth for evil.
This is Stella's arm.
Can you see the bite bruise on her arm?
I'm still learning to accept that sometimes
biting is a part of kids learning how to express themselves.

Where Does She Learn This?

We didn't know that she would do this....

Apparently she loves it.
She would do it over and over.
She has been on the slide before
but never head first.
She's a daredevil I guess.

No-Skip November

So I have had this goal for a while now-
the goal of doing a blog post every single day of the month.
Well, this is it, the month that my goal comes to fruition.
I plan to post every day of November.
Should be easy, right?
We'll see....

Ok, so it's November 1st, and
I'm already posting the pictures from Halloween!!!!
I'm off to a great start.

Here we have

Napoleon Dynamite

What do you think?

Not too bad I'd say.
Cole decided that this was the year to stop
trick-or-treating.
Well, I'm not sure if he decided it so much
as I told him he was probably getting too old.
So he went to a costume party instead.
I guess that's what all the cool freshmen do.

This little giraffe, however,
got her first taste at trick-or-treating.
She didn't really care too much about it.
We went to a few neighbors and the local grocery store.

.

I guess that's what all the cool 1-year olds do.
